BREAKING NEWS: PDP Postpones Delta North Senate Primary As Peter Nwaoboshi Drops Out

SAN FRANCISCO , December 07, (THEWILL) – The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has postponed the Delta North Senatorial primary, THEWILL can report.
A member of the ‎state’s executive told THEWILL that the directive to postpone the exercise was issued from the national headquarters of the party in Abuja.

The primary will now hold on Tuesday, November 09, 2014. However the senate primaries in the Central and Southern Senatorial Districts were ongoing as at the time of this report.
Meanwhile, THEWILL can exclusively report that former state party chairman, Mr. Peter Nwaoboshi, a frontline aspirant for the Delta North Senate seat has dropped out of the race following pressures from senior party officials.
Nwaoboshi has however not made his decision public.
A source with knowledge of the development told THEWILL that the politician would issue a statement momentarily.
Nwaoboshi’s exit clears the path for Mrs. Mariam Ali, the wife of a former national chairman of the PDP, Dr. Ahmadu Ali, to emerge.
