The saying that ''The evil that men do lives after them'' seems to be playing out in the Anioma polity as reports reaching our desk has informed that the National Exco of the ruling PDP has thrown its support behind Gov Emmanuel Uduaghan in his face off with some top Anioma governorship aspirants over the upcoming party primaries.
It is said that a lobbying team put up by the state governor had met with the National exco of the party at Abuja to state the role of the governor in the seemingly crisis .. The source revealed that the lobby team had proved its case beyond every reasonable doubt on why the state governor do not think that the so called top aspirants deserve the trust of the party. During the over 3 hours meeting at the party's national headquarters ,Abuja, the lobby team had tendered evidences dating back to the 2007 election to buttress its point that most of the governorship aspirants had at a time in the past engaged in one form of anti party activities against the overall interest of the party and therefore, stand not to be trusted with the party's authority to run the state.
Rising from the meeting, the National exco had agreed to tow the line of President Jonathan who stated it clearly that Delta state is a PDP state and in the good hands of Governor Uduaghan and the state party chairman. The exco therefore passed a vote of confidence on the state governor and party chairman and reiterated its belief that the governor knows what best is for the party in the state.
The outcome of the meeting sent a wild celebration in the political camp of one of the governorship aspirants.
